One Night in Dubai

Just out of curosity, and because that I’m bored at home after work, I decided to look up just how much it is to spend a week of vacation at Dubai. Thanks to the power of Internet and Google, here are some quotes for your comparison. 

For a 1 week vacation (includes to and from flight times in the 7 days) in December, the average cost for flight and hotel comes out to be roughly: 

USD $3000-$3500/person for a 5-star hotel; and,

USD $2000-$2500/person for a 4-star hotel.

And I couldn’t really find much 3-star hotel at Dubai. At least not in the near vicinity of the beach and downtown Dubai. I guess 3-star (and lower) is something of non-existance there. I did find a 3-star hotel though, at like the 3rd page; but after looking through the description and photo gallery of that 3-star hotel, I would safely say that is actually a 4-star hotel accidentally placed as a 3-star.

So, seems like I’ve got a lot of saving up to do in order to have a relaxed vacation in Dubai. By relaxed I mean that without worrying whether or not I’d need to sell any parts of my body to pay for my next month’s credit card bill. 

And of course, how can I finish this post without mentioning the cost for staying at the famous Burj Al Arab. From checking their website’s reservation, for a Delux King Suite, the price for staying for one(1) night is approximately,

USD $1600/night.

Yes, that is indeed correct. $1600 for one(1) night. And it’s already under promotional package deal. But I guess with that kind of price, this is the type of room you’ll get.

Ahh. The beautiful Burj Al Arab.
